I am a retired Stroke and Geriatric Physician now a citizen representative on the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Partnership Board and public governor on the Birmingham Community NHS Foundation Trust. I have been involved in NHS strategy and speciality representation nationally and locally and remain Hon. President of the West Midlands Institute of Ageing and Health and chair of the West Midlands

Socialist Health Association. I helped set up Crossroads and Age UK in Birmingham and was a national trustee of the Carers Trust. I am a senior adviser and co-heritage lead for the Lunar Society and a co-opted governor for King Edwards Fiveways School.
